FINANCIAL REPORT

In addressing the renovation of Lake Michigan money plays a big factor.  We began to think of ways to get money to start our project and started with writing letters to mostly Chicago celebrities hoping they would support their city.  The amount of money received by us from the following donors is as follows: Oprah Winfrey - $2 million, Smashing Pumpkins- $3 million, Bill Gates- $25 million, Donald Trump- $10 million, Jerry Springer- $0.5 million,  Michael Jordan- $1 million, Roger Ebert- $0.25 million, Gene Siskel (memorial fund)- $0.25 million, and EPA- $25,000.

These donations will start the construction along the lakefront in five distinct sections.  Each section has certain needs that need improvement:

LINCOLN PARK: needs to install phones, bathrooms, and beach houses.  They need to adjust the bike path, hire workers to separate recyclables, and more water filtration plants. -$450,000,000

SOLDIER FIELD, MEIGS FIELD, NAVY PIER: (Soldier Field) needs retractable dome, concert permits, and extra workers (Meigs Field) needs water to flood, workers, an observation deck, and animals (Navy Pier) needs a boardwalk, carnival rides, workers, and permits -$705,000,000

GRANT PARK: needs an underpass under Lake Shore Drive, increased security (brighter and larger lights, more phone booths, and patrol guards), larger budget for public events and maintenance, addition of parking lot, renovations of sidewalks, and addition of safety fences  -$96,000,000

BURNHAM PARK: needs sports civic center/ health club, mini golf, restaurant, para-sailing, and outdoor theater -$274,000,000

SOUTH WORKS: needs a casino boat, a mall, and a cinema -$50,000,000

The expected income (per month) for some of the establishments are as follows.
The mall- $6,500, the cinema- $7,000, the restaurant- $8,000, mini-golf- $5,000, amphitheater- $2,000.  The total expected income per month would be $28,500 and that is not even counting all of the other establishments.

The amount of money needed is $ 1,575,000,000, and the amount of money that has been donated is $44,025,000; so the grand total of money that still needs to be raised is $1,530,975,000.

To reach this goal of $1,530,975,000 we have proposed the idea of a few fund-raisers.  They are as follows:

WALK AGAINST WATER POLLUTION- local Chicagoland residents or supporters will walk the span of the constructed lake front
